Executives from Plexus, a global leader in contract product development and manufacturing for the industrial, healthcare, aerospace, and defense spaces, visited campus on March 10th. They were fortunate to have Spring-like weather as they explored UW-Madison’s capabilities in AI and data science, data security, and improving efficiency in the development process.
In partnership with Justin Hines, Director of Corporate Relations from the school of Computer, Date and Information Science (CDIS), Russ Johnson hosted Ryan Wieland, Sr. VP Global Engineering Solutions, and Ryan Veleke, VP AI and Decision Technologies. Among the spaces visited during the “Ryan’s” visit was the Wisconsin Racing space, Design Innovation labs, Mechatronics labs, HSX Stellarator, Pegasus, the Engine Research Center, and the new CDIS building.
Plexus has been a significant supporter of the UW-Madison College of Engineering over the years, including serving on engineering department advisory boards, providing funds to create the Plexus Collaboratory in Engineering Hall, and donating funding toward a named space in the new Phillip A. Levy Engineering Center. Their commitment to the university has lead to the successfull hiring of over 30 engineering undergrads over the last 10 years. We are hopeful that this visit will drive a deeper partnership between the two organizations.
